Keepedia
An offline library and community box for hardware you already own.
Keepedia turns an old computer into an offline knowledge box: Wikipedia, books, audiobooks, maps and kids' learning, with no internet needed. It's a free alternative to prepper boxes that sell for hundreds of dollars.
What it does
- Offline Wikipedia, with an edition sized to fit your drive
- A visual bookshelf for books and audiobooks
- Offline maps by region
- A kids zone with games, age-banded shelves and opt-in parental controls
- Chores with a reward gate
- Messaging across your local network, and reuse of Kiwix files you already have
Where it stands
Five build phases done, with a regression suite that ships in the box. Testing on real hardware before release.
